The Accountant is responsible for general ledger processing (journal entries, account reconciliations, inter-company accounting, fixed assets, research, analysis, etc.), assisting a Senior Accountant.Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in Switzerland or in possession of a valid work permit.ROLE DESCRIPTION
- The Accountant is responsible for general ledger processing (journal entries, account reconciliations, inter-company accounting, fixed assets, research, analysis, etc.)
- This role reports to a Senior Accountant
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will perform tasks related to general ledger accounting (journal entries, month-end accruals, account and bank reconciliations, account analysis, support schedules, etc.)
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly closings
- Is responsible for bank accounting
- Maintain a wide variety of financial information, files and records for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies
- You will respond to inquiries from a wide variety of sources (e.g. employees, vendors, auditors, etc.) for the purpose of facilitating communication and/or providing guidance among several parties
- Review and processes travel expenses across numerous business functions
- You will support the Senior Accountant in the preparation and reconciliation of payroll reports and payments
- Support accounts payable with filing payment packages, posting vendor invoices, and obtaining approvals on non-PO invoices (as required)
- Assists in reviewing financial information for the purpose of identifying potential budget variances, compiling statistical information and conforming to established financial practices
- You will assist in preparation of quarterly and yearly audit schedules
- Assist with intercompany postings, research, and communications
- Perform administrative functions (mail processing, file maintenance, etc.) as assigned
- Support special projects as required and directed by the supervisor or the Finance Department
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- You bring one to three years of experience in general accounting
- Excellent English skills (written and verbal)
- Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to multi-task
- You are able to meet assigned deadlines
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
EDUCATION
- You have a commercial apprenticeship or Bachelor’s degree
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with MS Dynamics would be an advantage
