Permanent, Full-TimeA leading advanced engineering company based in Norwich is looking to appoint a Bids & Proposals Engineer to join their commercial and engineering function.This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded engineer or experienced proposals professional to play a key role in managing the end-to-end bid process for high-value, bespoke engineering projects supplied to global markets.Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and manage incoming RFIs and RFQs, ensuring accurate interpretation of scope, technical requirements and commercial terms
  • Work closely with internal teams including Sales, Operations and Engineering to develop accurate cost estimates and bid content
  • Prepare compelling and compliant bid documentation including executive summaries, technical content and pricing models
  • Maintain and update CRM and ERP systems to track bid activity
  • Support bid/no-bid decision-making and lead internal bid review meetings
  • Liaise directly with clients where required to support proposal clarification and negotiation
  • Ensure bids are completed in line with company quality and compliance procedures

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a Bids & Proposals, Tendering or Technical Sales Support role
  • Ability to manage bids from concept to submission
  • Familiarity with BOMs and cost structures
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams) and CRM systems
  • Confident communicator, capable of engaging with internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Engineering qualification (ONC/HNC/Degree level or equivalent) – Electrical bias desirable
  • Experience with ERP systems and proposal management tools advantageous

Desirable:

  • Experience managing bids for complex engineering projects
  • Familiarity with PQQs and formal bid processes
  • Ability to work across multiple bids and meet tight deadlines
