Job description: Business Development DirectorAbout the role:Business Development Directors are responsible for prospecting companies that are not presently active clients of Gartner, within an assigned geographical territory. The purpose of the role is to identify key buying centres to expand the net new client base.What you’ll do:Leverage key best practices to drive and successfully sell new business opportunitiesBuild and effectively manage a list of new individuals and new clients to drive business developmentCollaborate with internal resources and external network to prioritize and penetrate key accountsPrimary focus is on driving sales within net new logos / net new client accountsUtilize account planning and time management tools to drive an increase of research revenue to an assigned quotaEstablish and maintain executive relationships with clients to become the trusted advisorQuota responsibility aligned to the territoryHandover of clients to existing Account Executives within 30 days of closing, for continued Gartner serviceMastery and consistent execution of Gartner’s internal sales methodology, products, and servicesManage forecast accuracy on a monthly/quarterly/annual basisWhat you’ll need:Consultative sales experience in high technology (services or software) to large multi-national companiesAbility to build credibility quickly with new clientsProven experience in developing new business, by effectively building prospect lists and transitioning prospect companies to clientsProven experience in closing enterprise-wide complex sales solutionsAbility to comprehend and problem solve by thinking and acting quickly on your feetStrong ability to influence others in the organization with no direct reporting relationshipAbility to articulate a strong value proposition at the executive levelComprehensive understanding of technology buying centresExcellent presentation and communication skills at an executive levelFluent/Native GermanFluent/Native EnglishBachelor’s or master’s degree – desiredWhat you will get:Competitive salary, generous paid time off policy, charity match program, and more!Collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversityProfessional development and unlimited growth opportunitiesWho are we?At Gartner, Inc.
