We are a key contributor to SAP’s cash flow ambition with a strong focus to accelerate cash inflow via continuous optimization, automation, agility and simplifying customer experience. The Cash Collections Team has close contact with customers, partners, customer success teams and finance functions. To ensure efficiency and effectiveness of collection efforts and deliver on cash flow goals, Cash Collection Team is segmenting our customer accounts into strategic, volume and digital collections. This role is responsible for leading the EMEA South (EMEA S) volume cash collections and Global AR Terminations teams and transforming the SAP’s collection practices, policies, systems, and processes for collections of volume customers for the EMEA S region. Working as ONE team with our global and regional Collection counterparts, and in partnership with Order-to-Invoice, the Volume Collections Team focuses on standardizing the policies, processes, & operations across the collection lifecycle to achieve efficiency of cash collection and decrease in DSO for the volume customers.WHAT YOU´LL DO

  • Customer success – drive attainment of Cash Flow Targets (cash collected, collection effectiveness index, DSO, dispute cycle time and % of exceptions), contribute to a positive customer experience through an effective customer segmentation and services provided in both volume collections and terminations due to non-payment; be accountable for effective and efficient delivery of daily operations; own the relationship with our customers and business partners (incl. the right level of communication, resolution of customers’ problems, de-escalation, etc.); build strong partnership with the business leaders providing collection and payment behavior insights to drive healthy customer relationship; improve the customer satisfaction.
  • Operational success – lead and own the initiatives to improve the operational excellence in the Cash Collections organization as well as the AR Terminations; be a role model for innovative and agile approaches; drive processes optimizations and enhance team’s productivity. Oversee daily operations of the collections team and adjusting AR analysts’ portfolios. Oversee daily activities of the AR Terminations team, work on the process standardization, optimization and automation. Monitor and facilitate collections of SAP receivables. Forecast cash for month/quarter end. Identify the customers eligible for suspension/terminations. Identify potential receivable risks and guide team members through resolution.
  • Transformation agent – lead and drive initiative to create a frictionless collection runway for Volume customer as well as the stable process for the AR Termination process globally; understand the business case for change and engage early with your team; actively contribute/ lead initiatives related to cash acceleration and DSO reduction (NGBC, Cash Collections Segmentation, automation, EHF governance…) and AR Terminations.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Administration, Accounting, Economics or related.
  • Inspiring leadership style with focus on customers, innovation, and people development.
  • Decisive, pragmatic and results oriented.
  • Strong business acumen & knowledge about SAP’s portfolio, products, and organizational structure.
  • Excellent program management skills with ability to drive complex strategic projects independently.
  • Resilient working attitude and ability to work under pressure. Ability to make a sustainable impact in a highly ambiguous environment.
  • Transformation and change management skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 7+ years of working experience across finance functions, Cash Collections/AR management and having previous leadership role is a strong plus.
  • Good understanding of the Cash Collections processes, non-payment consequence management and practices.
  • Good understanding of the Global Finance Success (GFS) processes (especially along the Quote-to-Revenue lifecycle).
  • Experience with project and program management.
  • Experience in driving significant change to reliable business outcomes and high employee satisfaction.
  • Experience in global and virtual teams across multiple lines of businesses, geographies, and cultures.
