We advise clients who have suffered physical, mental or economic loss as a result of this negligence and guide them through the initial investigation into their claim and thereafter proceeding through the pre-action and post issue phases of County and High Court litigation. We also regularly attend Coroner’s inquests.Our specialist team have dealt with thousands of claims against hospital trusts, private healthcare providers, care homes, individual GPs and dentists on a variety of different injuries ranging from low to high severity, with particular expertise in relation to fatal claims, birth injuries, amputations, brain injury and multiple injuries.The opportunity:We are seeking a qualified and experienced nurse or midwife to join our in-house legal team. This role involves considering initial inquiries from potential clients to see whether they may have a claim, reviewing medical records clinical risk assessments completed by frontline nurses and determining whether cases meet the threshold for legal action or further investigation.You will work closely with a small team and liaise with legal professionals to ensure accurate and timely case screening. Your clinical expertise will be key in evaluating the nature and severity of incidents and advising on next steps.Key Responsibilities

  • Considering initial enquiries to determine if the potential Client may have a claim
  • Review and interpret medical records.
  • Make informed decisions on whether cases should proceed to legal review.
  • Liaise with internal legal teams to provide clinical context and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all assessments and decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of risk assessment protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Registered Nurse or Midwife.
  • Full time or part-time.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a high-risk or litigation-prone area.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience working with legal teams is desirable.
