Salary: Competitive, aligned with public sector termsI’m recruiting on behalf of the Health Insurance Authority (HIA) for a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Officer. Working closely with the Head of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, this is a hands-on and varied role with real scope to make an impact. You’ll be involved in everything from media relations and social media to events and corporate publications.What’s on Offer:

Core responsibilities include:
- Supporting the delivery of the communications strategy and annual plans
- Drafting press releases, stakeholder updates, and public-facing materials
- Managing and growing the HIA’s social media channels (incl. back-end scheduling and insights)
- Updating and improving website content (no coding required)
- Coordinating with external service providers (PR, advertising, design)
- Assisting with event planning and attendance (e.g. Ploughing Championships, Over 50s Expo)
- Contributing to quarterly market reports and the Annual Report
- Helping with internal communications and team coordination
- General admin support including invoicing and procurement processes
- Using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for day-to-day content and reporting
About You:
This role would suit someone currently working in a communications role, ready to step into a more rounded, senior position.The ideal candidate may come from either the public or private sector – for example, a communications professional in insurance (general, health, or life) who wants a meaningful next move into public service.Requirements:
- Solid experience in communications, PR or stakeholder engagement (minimum 5+ years)
- Strong written skills and confidence in drafting external content
- Experience with back-end social media management (e.g. scheduling, insights)
- Basic website CMS experience (or willingness to learn)
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Word
- Organised, detail-focused and comfortable juggling tasks
- A proactive and collaborative mindset
- Public sector communications experience is welcome, but not essential
