Job description: A well-established Logistics company operating nationally and internationally is seeking a Company Accountant to manage financial operations, ensure compliance, and support administrative functions.Key ResponsibilitiesGenerate invoices and manage pricing within the Transport Management System (TMS)Handle postings, reconciliations, and statutory returns (VAT, VIES, payroll)Process weekly payroll and prepare month-end reportsOversee year-end accounts, European VAT reclaim, and diesel rebateManage fleet compliance, insurance policies, and fixed asset registersDevelop budgets, forecasts, and KPI reportsConduct internal audits and lead finance/customs projectsLiaise with customers and authorities on customs mattersComplete import/export customs declarations and manage complianceOversee office operations, process improvements, and health & safety policiesSkills & ExperienceEssential:Degree / Part-Qualified Accountant / Qualified by Experience5+ years in accounts with strong IT and organisational skillsInterest in customs complianceDesirable:Experience with Sage Accounts/PayrollKnowledge of customs procedures and the transport industryProcess improvement experienceCompetenciesStrong financial acumen and attention to detailProactive, independent, and customer-focusedExcellent problem-solving and organisational skillsCommitment to continuous improvementThis is a great opportunity to join a successful company with further growth plans.
