Job description: The full-time position is part of the research project “The Dark Side of the Sharing Economy”, funded by the Carlsberg Foundation and headed by Associate Professor Tobias Schäfers. The Postdoc is expected to work on several ongoing research projects in the field of the Sharing Economy with a special interest in customer reactions to sharing-based offers.The specific tasks of the postdoc are:

  • Conducting independent research on the topic of customer misbehavior in the sharing economy
  • Developing theoretical models and empirical research designs for testing them
  • Conducting quantitative analyses based on the gathered data
  • Contributing towards achieving the overall project objectives regarding publication and dissemination of the project results
  • Organizing workshops with international researchers and industry representatives on topic related to the project

Thus, our research focuses on marketing, yet we draw on other academic disciplines to the extent that they improve the quality of our marketing research. We accordingly publish in both marketing and other relevant journals contained within the Academic Journal Guide (AJG; formerly ABS) ranking list. The research of the department covers broad areas (often cross-disciplinary) in marketing. Faculty members use a wide range of methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative. Through our research-based teaching, we contribute across a palette of courses and programs at Copenhagen Business School.The Postdoc is a non-tenured position for a period of 9 months, from October 1st, 2025, until June 30, 2026, with research obligation.To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the applicant chosen is expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the research activities of the Department.QualificationsThe applicant must hold a PhD or the equivalent. In assessing applications, particular emphasis will be placed on research potential.Emphasis will be placed on research relevant to the job description.Candidates should hold a PhD from an accredited institution. They should have a strong research record (or potential) in areas relevant to the project (including but not limited to marketing, consumer behavior, or service research). An advantage will be if a candidate has experience with conducting research on the sharing economy. Moreover, candidates should possess skills in quantitative methods of marketing research, ideally demonstrated through publications in academic journals at least at the level of 3, according to the current AJG ranking. We are particularly looking for methods skills related to designing, conducting, and analyzing empirical studies.
