Full-time | Permanent | MondayFriday | On-site Parking AvailablePerform Recruitment is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join a highly respected chilled food manufacturing company based in Drogheda. This is a pivotal, hands-on role ideal for someone with strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of manufacturing finance.You’ll play a key part in driving operational efficiencies, supporting strategic decision-making, and enhancing cost control processes across the business.What You’ll Be DoingFinancial & Operational AnalysisPartner with factory and operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and performance gaps.Develop and maintain detailed line and product efficiency models.Drive performance visibility by leading KPI tracking and operational reporting.Product Costing & Margin ManagementOwn product costing and gross margin analysis by SKU.Maintain accurate BOMs and costing inputs.Work with commercial and finance teams to support pricing and new product launches.Reconcile margin analysis across financial and commercial reports.Business Support & Project InvolvementSupport CAPEX evaluations and provide clear financial recommendations.Contribute to ongoing cost-reduction initiatives and systems improvement projects.Continuously enhance reporting tools and automate processes for greater efficiency.What You’ll NeedMust-Have:3+ years in cost accounting, financial planning, or manufacturing finance.Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, simulations).Strong experience in variance analysis, budgeting, and financial modelling.Deep understanding of manufacturing cost structures and lean principles.Clear communication and stakeholder management skills.Nice-to-Have:Experience with BI tools like Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau, or SQL.Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Background in FMCG or food manufacturing.Involvement in system implementations or automation projects.Why This Role?This role offers a unique balance of strategic impact and operational involvement.
