Ensuring first that these initiatives and projects are closely aligned with Tate & Lyle’s strategic priorities, and second, that these initiatives and projects are completed on-time, within scope and budget and with an extremely high quality of deliverables.The incumbent will ensure the optimum mix of cost, schedule, performance, and system supportability throughout the life cycle (design, development, testing and evaluation, production and disposition) of each program and will analyse alternative problem solutions and present a case for the recommended solutions with a detailed analysis of risks and return on investment.As a member of the Site Management Team the incumbent shares overall responsibility for:

  • Leading & functional accountability for the adherence to global / local EHSQS Policy and Procedures.
  • Setting objectives and targets for EHSQS performance and improvement.
  • Assigning responsibility and authority for implementation activities.
  • Providing the adequate resources needed to implement the policy.
  • Ensuring knowledge and skills are developed to effectively apply the EHSQS systems and standards.
  • Reviewing the EHSQS system to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy, effectiveness.
  • Actively communicating leadership and commitment that is visible to the organization.
  • The incumbent will be measured against site EHS, Quality, Production, Reliability and Leadership goals.
  • In cooperation with Skensved QA/SC-Manager and Skensved EHS&S manger ensure compliance with standards ISO 9000, FSSC 22000, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14000, and related programs.
  • In cooperation with the regional PSM Manager, ensure compliance with applicable legislation, apply risk reduction and mitigation techniques and follow the agreed Process Safety Management Process.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Engineering Manager leads and manages engineering processes, projects and program initiatives in support of business objectives and other business functional areas.

Lead the sites Engineering team, setting operational goals and ensuring the effective execution of complex projects that support the company’s operational continuity and optimises manufacturing and production. * Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop a 5-year capital plan that meets the business needs and site priorities.

  • Oversee large-scale projects, including plant upgrades, process optimisations and major equipment installations, working closely with management across Operations & Engineering to achieve safe and successful outcomes.
  • Ensure engineering activities meet compliance standards, regulatory requirements and organisational safety guidelines by working closely with EHS & Quality and Legal, Compliance & Audit.
  • Ensure appropriate Ad hoc support in emergency cases to the operations department.
  • Coordination of the “operations support” process and ensure the agreement on priorities, timelines, and scopes for support related activities.
  • Act as the link between innovation and the site to ensure new processes and product development are evaluated and implemented in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure the team keep abreast of the latest technologies and techniques and evaluate them for implementation at the site.
  • Develop and manage budgets for Engineering initiatives, optimising resource allocation for cost-effect operations and leading as a project engineering lead.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with teams across Manufacturing & Production, Maintenance, Quality Control, EHS and Quality Assurance to support operational objectives and production targets.
  • Lead initiatives in continuous improvement, implementing best practices in safety, efficiency and process control.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical excellence and leadership within the teams.
  • Monitor and analyse Operations Engineering performance metrics and KPIs, making data-driven decisions to enhance productivity and reliability.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required SkillsEducation & Experience:

  • Degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical engineering.
  • 5-7+ years of Technical Project Manager experience with gradually increasing responsibilities.
  • Experience with Quality Management systems, ideally in the food ingredients or associated industries.
  • Must be fluent in Danish and English

Professional Skills:

  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • A thorough understanding of Project Management processes, artefacts and tools
  • Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management and change management.
  • A track record as a coach, mentor, and developer of talent
  • Basic knowledge in cost accounting and purchasing

  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
