Deloitte is seeking a proactive and ambitious ESG Finance Controller to join our Internal Finance department (non-client facing) within the Compliance team in Copenhagen. This role is perfect for someone early in their career, with 2-5 years of relevant experience, ideally with a background in Audit & Assurance.   • Integrating CSRD Requirements: Playing a key role in incorporating CSRD standards into Deloitte’s frameworks, ensuring comprehensive compliance and seamless reporting processes.
  • Preparing Internal & External ESG Reporting: Compiling detailed ESG reports using complex datasets from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in disclosures to stakeholders.
  • Developing Accounting Policies and Controls: Collaborating with the rest of the Compliance team to refine accounting policies and internal controls, enhancing ESG practices and standards.
  • Collaborating Across Borders: Partnering with internal, regional and global stakeholders to align ESG initiatives with corporate objectives, ensuring consistent adherence to regulatory mandates.
  • Keeping Up to Date: Keeping abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively adapting strategies to align with best practices.
  • Automating and Improving Processes: Identifying opportunities to automate and improve ESG reporting processes for enhanced efficiency.
  • Facilitating Training: Organizing training sessions to elevate organizational understanding and implementation of ESG policies and practices.

QualificationsTo excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A degree with a strong academic track record in Accounting, Finance or Economics (ideally CMA / HD).
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience within ESG, sustainability, compliance, assurance, or internal controls – preferably from an international organization.
  • Ability to understand and comply with reporting standards: ESRS, IFRS, etc.
  • Curiosity to understand business requirements and a passion for improving processes.
  • A diligent and analytical mindset that can provide insights from complex data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders on developing new processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English being a requirement.
