Job description: Our client, a highly regarded and well-established company based in Kerry, is looking to add an experienced Financial Controller. The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities across the organisation. This strategic role ensures financial integrity, optimises operational efficiency, and provides analytical insights to support decision-making and long-term planning.Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial and accounting operations across the organization
  • Ensure accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with relevant standards
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) weekly
  • Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage group reporting and consolidated financial statements
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors
  • Monitor and manage cash flow and working capital requirements
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning

Planning and Analysis:

  • Analyse financial results and provide actionable insights
  • Support decision-making for investments, R&D, and capital projects
  • Identify and apply for relevant grants and funding opportunities
  • Mentor and lead the finance team, promoting growth and efficiency
  • Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., ERP)
  • Lead process automation initiatives to enhance data integrity and reporting

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA, ACA, or CIMA)
  • 5-7 years of progressive financial experience, including 3+ years in a senior finance role
  • Industry experience in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, grants, and export-driven businesses is an asset
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
  • Proficiency in ERP and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Sage)
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present at board level
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in developing finance teams
