Every day is an opportunity to make a real difference, accelerating the progress of sustainable GB energy, keeping people connected and society thriving as we create a brighter tomorrow.Reporting to the Financial Planning & Performance Manager, the Financial Planning & Performance Analyst provides internally and externally focused financial planning activities, producing financial and performance analysis and insights against agreed Key Performance Indicators, to inform internal business planning and RIIO business plans.This role can is based in Warwick, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.Key accountabilities

  • Supporting the coordination of the annual internal financial planning cycle (budgets, rolling forecasts and top-down high-level forecasts) and the external financial RIIO business plans (BP) for NESO.
  • Providing and driving the adoption of planning models, ensuring stakeholders across NESO understand and adhere to the required processes.
  • Supporting the Financial Planning & Performance Manager with the overall financial planning process and governance required to approve each forecast/BP cycle with the business.
  • Consolidating the detailed forecasts received from the Accounting and Reporting teams including P&L, cashflow and balance sheet, prepare strategic financial information and narrative to support all governance sign-off meetings and support the preparation of any annual plan documents.
  • Coordinating forecast data loading into S/4 HANA for monthly reporting purposes, ensuring it reconciles with expectations.
  • Supporting all stakeholders through the internal and external planning process, providing training and guidance as required.
  • Producing ad-hoc strategic financial analysis or scenario modelling as required to support key business decisions.
  • On a monthly basis, producing and presenting insightful financial and performance analysis, KPIs and insights to help the leadership team build a comprehensive understanding of business performance and a clear view of progress against improvement initiatives, regulatory/budgetary targets and RIIO business plans.
  • Providing monthly reporting to Government as appropriate.

  • Part qualified accountant (member of CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
  • Experience in co-ordinating financial planning processes. Strong planning and forecasting skills.
  • A finance regulatory background is preferred.
  • Good understanding of the FSO’s regulatory framework.
  • Strong financial modelling skills.
  • The ability to work with many stakeholders across Finance and the business to drive the planning process, and to provide clear and understandable narrative to stakeholders.
  • Able to think commercially to maximise consumer benefit, and to think both strategically and analytically about issues/opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
