Job description: Freight Forwarding Specialist – LeixlipOne of the largest providers of industrial, medical and special gases in the UK and Ireland is looking to add a Freight Specialist to their team. The role will be based on the Intel site in Leixlip.The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing / logistics background with an understanding of Freight activities or with experience of import and export activities.This role has become available as a direct result of continued growth within the organisation.Permanent role, 39 hours week based 5 days on site on the Intel site. Mon-Fri.Responsibilities:· Support with freight planning activities and logistics coordinationVendor PO follow up· Support month end billing cycle where vendor or customer queries exist· Co-ordination of PO requests for month end reconciliations· Ensure rate file effective & expiry dates are current and up to date on SharePoint· Archive outdated commercial buy and sell rates· Follow up with vendors for rate file updates· Checking of queried vendor invoices where ongoing disputes exist· Production of commercial KPIs· Creation of Power Point slides for SLT/QBR· Support projects related to operational, productivity, cost improvement, process optimisationRequirements· 2+ years’ experience in freight / logistics / import & export role· Experience in working with suppliers· Understanding of the negotiation / procurement process· Ability to think ahead and plan accordingly· Practical problem-solving ability· Credible communication and negotiation skills at all levels· Ability to identify, develop and implement innovative ideas@LI-SD1
