Job description: In case of a first time appointment to a professorship, the appointment may be initially limited to 6 years – with an extension option.The position:Applicants should have excellent academic qualifications in Comparative Law and Private International Law. Credentials in both areas are expected, as well as the associated ability to research and teach both of them. The familiarity with several legal systems is desirable. A specialisation in one area, such as international family law or international commercial law, is welcome; publications in uniform law and European law are an advantage. Knowledge of the German language and the Austrian legal system is not a prerequisite; however, applicants should be willing to learn German and familiarise themselves with Austrian law. Applicants are expected to engage in current international debates, to enrich them through innovative ideas, to be enthusiastic about teaching, to like working in a team, and to be able to conduct interdisciplinary research. Habilitation or equivalent academic achievement (‘second book’) is desirable.Your academic profile:
