Job description: Exciting opportunity to support and shape the delivery of operational excellence in Carne Group. This position will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the newly established Fund Expense Management function. This Fund Expense Management function will implement Carne’s global programme oversight of Fund Expenses in accordance with regulatory requirements. The person will lead the global team and report directly to the Head of Capital and Financial Management, based in Ireland. It is intended that the global function may support activities serviced by Carne in Ireland, UK, Luxembourg, Channel Islands and Switzerland.This role requires strong ownership of personal responsibilities and deliverables. The role will involve a high level of interaction with internal senior management and external delegates. Ideal candidate would have existing experience in manager position of fund operations – preferably in fund expenses either in management company, fund administrator or depositary roles.What are the minimum Requirements you need for the role?

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the asset management industry in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of funds and/or Management Company activities including UCITS and AIFMD regulations,
  • A recognised professional or third level qualification, relevant to the role. A qualification in business, accounting, finance, data analytics or similar is preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Prior knowledge of Funds structures, fund expense oversight or other fund operations would be a distinct advantage.

What is your role and your responsibilities?

  • Manage day-to-day activities to lead the function
  • Build and maintain an efficient operating model including implementing consistent global model where appropriate
  • Ensure the funds under management meet regulatory requirements in each of the relevant jurisdictions.
  • Ensure familiarity with regulatory requirements and potential changes in each of the relevant jurisdictions and to ensure regulatory compliance on an ongoing basis
  • Working with internal stakeholders such as oversight, client relationship managers, compliance and senior management to ensure regulatory & governance requirements are adhered to
  • Lead interaction with operational teams and escalate matters , in accordance with internal escalation policies
  • Lead the development of the Supervision of Costs programme and SME team on expense related tasks. Programme includes Fund expense analysis, budget implementation and/or reviews, market and peer analysis, support of ETF fixed TER models, invoice approvals, performance fee reviews, market comparisons and TER/Ongoing Charges analysis and other related tasks
  • Prepare and present internal MIS, KPIs or other reporting as required
  • Maximize efficiencies and automation where possible. Identify areas for improvement and be proactive in driving change
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of procedures
  • Adapt to new tasks and processes requiring support to ensure that they are implemented and continuously performed to the required standards
  • Drive efficiencies through use of automation and digital solutions
  • Foster a positive team ethic and support the development and training of staff, when required
  • Manage recruitment and development of more junior member of staff and implement performance engagement programme
  • Influence the strategic development of the function to support growth and scale of business.
