Job description: Who are we looking for?We are currently seeking a Head of Procurement & Vendor Management to lead the company in the efficient deployment of capital to maintain and grow the business by delivering cost effective and proactive procurement services. This is seen as a key role that will guide the business to meet it’s ambitious growth goals.What are the minimum requirements for the role?
- The ideal candidate will have at least five-years’ experience in a related operations role in a similar industry.
- Ability to conduct industry analysis to support business stakeholders with commercial understanding of the marketplace.
- Understand clients’ (both internal and external) needs and deliver an appropriate sourcing strategy to meet those needs.
- Have an understanding of related legislation or regulation for third party vendor management eg DORA.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage priorities effectively.
- Strong negotiations skills with a track record of reducing costs.
What is your role and responsibilities?Business Support
- Be a strategic partner to the various business teams for all procurements and the management of their related vendors.
- Build and maintain positive and effective relationships, providing in-depth professional advice on procurement strategies and the application of relevant policies and guidelines.
- Provide expertise and assistance across the Company on vendor management to ensure that expenditure is being properly controlled and reviewed.
- Challenge the business on their existing vendor expenditure and additional solution requests to ensure a coherent strategy across the organization.
Purchasing Approval Management
- Manage and sign off workflow approvals of Purchasing Transactions – ensuring compliance with Company policies.
- Own the Purchasing Delegated Authorization Matrix for the Group.
Procurement Data Management
- Ensure transactional integrity on purchase related transactions – from PO maintenance, Vendor record management to Contract record Management.
- Develop, implement and maintain a contract register to provide oversight for procured contracts including the preparation of reports on the status of contracts for relevant
Policy & Procedures
- Ensure the Company’s procurement processes are compliant with all relevant policies, guidelines and legislation and that they are fit for purpose with respect to the company’s objectives.
- Develop, implement and maintain the Corporate Procurement and Vendor Management Policy and Procedures.
Procurement Reporting
- Schedule periodic reviews to ensure that projects are being delivered on time and within budget and review that organizational efficiencies predicted in the initial business case are being delivered as outlined.
- Completion of quarterly expenditure compliance reporting.
- Preparation of procurement updates for inclusion in monthly board and committee updates.
- Develop, implement and maintain a contract register to provide oversight for procured contracts including the preparation of reports on the status of contracts for relevant business units and creation of regulatory register for group entities.
Audit
- Coordinate on all internal and external audit queries related to procurement.

- Ability to multi-task – the ideal person for the role will be able to manage varying volumes of tasks and transactions each week/month/quarter and will be able to switch from task to task and prioritise appropriately
- Resilience – a person who is aware of the constantly changing business environment and client requirements and who can engage well with others to ensure tasks stay on track
