Job description: Overview:Machine OperatorLir Chocolates, Navan, County Meath, IrelandPosition type: Temporary, Full-timeHours: Low Season (December/January – June): 40 hours. High Season (July – November/December): 36 hoursShift Pattern: Low Season: Monday – Thursday, 06:00 – 16:30. High Season: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 18:00 – 06:30.Pay range: Low Season: €15.19 per hour, High Season: €16.41 per hour (8% uplift)Breaks: 30 minutes paid & 30 minutes unpaid Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all departmental procedures, health & safety, hygiene, and food safety standards.
• Plan and prepare for daily production, including staffing, materials, line setup, and specifications.
• Operate machinery efficiently, including start-ups and changeovers, following SOPs.
• Monitor and maintain product quality.
• Achieve daily production targets.
• Analyse performance, downtime, and rejects; identify and report root causes.
• Organise and lead the team daily, ensuring effective communication and task delegation.
• Train and support new operators; coordinate ongoing training needs.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time, including labour capture and daily reports.
• Maintain audit-ready work areas and ensure housekeeping standards are met.
• Report engineering issues promptly and document them using work requests.
• Participate in improvement projects and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Previous machinery experience.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Proactive and organised.
• Competent with numbers and basic calculations.
