Job description: Job Description:About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use): 11The Role: S&P Global Commodity Insights is the leading provider of commodity pricing, news and analytics. We are looking for a Manager, Price Reporting to lead Platts non-ferrous metals team and coverage for the EMEA region, based in London office in Ropemaker Street.The Impact: The successful candidate will be part of a global team, based in S&P Global’s London office, working in a hybrid environment. The responsibilities of this position include managing and motivating the EMEA team covering non-ferrous metals, writing about pricing information and interpreting data. The manager will work with their team to develop and defend Platts price assessments. The successful candidate will be expected to become familiar with the assessment process for the EMEA metals markets and to cover them as a frontline reporter as the need arises. They will also represent Platts externally in explaining price assessment methodology and delivering insights by producing relevant pricing content and thought leadership including podcasts, analysis, features. Metals benchmark protection and seeking new opportunities for growth are areas of focus for our company so success in this role will be noted by senior decision makers. In addition, this individual will work closely with colleagues in their own team and those in other regions to identify opportunities for developing and refining metals methodology and will liaise with the Carbon and Energy Transition team members to accelerate our work in this space.Responsibilities:Primary responsibility will be managing a team of 5-7 price reporters covering EMEA non-ferrous metals markets, while also contributing on such coverage on an as-needed basis.Develop team members and foster a positive and collegial team cultureProduce and oversee price assessments in line with Platts rigorous and published methodology while ensuring adherence to ISOCO Principles for Price Reporting Agencies. This would include reviewing prices assessments and being the critical “second pair of eyes” check.Ensure that emerging market issues which may require further investigation and potential methodology adjustment are highlighted and acted upon in an appropriate time frameWorking with the manager, price reporting, EMEA ferrous metals in London, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the non-ferrous team including scheduling coverage and holidays.Write and lead the generation of thought-leadership content, including analysis, features, blogs, special reports and digital content including podcasts and videosLead frequent engagements with key industry stakeholders, explaining methodology and identifying market trends that could lead to methodology changesWork across commodity groups and regions within Platts to foster collaboration in reporting and external market engagement.What we’re looking for :Basic Required QualificationKnowledge of the Platts approach to pricing commoditiesDemonstrate ability to motivate and lead people and manage processes in a fast-paced environmentStrong leadership ability that utilizes influence and promotes team collaboration and development, as well as personal accountabilityAccuracy under time pressure, by ensuring accurate assessments are delivered to the market consistentlyAbility to react quickly to changing market conditionsProven real-time news abilities with clean and concise writing style and strong editing skills.Superior communication skills with the ability to converse articulately across a wide range of groups and personalities, internally and externallyStrong public speaking / presentational skillsStrong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointProven analytical ability and comfortable handling numbersDesired QualificationPrior experience covering international financial and commodities markets in a price reporting or analytical roleDemonstrate ability to create relevant pricing content and drive news and thought leadership in the team including podcasts, analysis, features.Understanding of the relationship between the physical and derivatives markets for metals.Experience in speaking with external mediaAbout S&P Global Commodity Insights
