Job description: About The RoleThe Market Analytics Specialist is a key contributor to the global PET resin sourcing and market analytics team by developing timely and accurate high-quality data analysis, reports, and market insights of the global PET market. Reporting to the Senior Global Procurement Manager, this role will be responsible for updating all relevant market trackers and managing dashboards. The Market Analytics Specialist will identify and report trends and dynamics that may impact pricing.In addition, this role will be responsible for providing timely support to PET category managers with regional/global market and supplier analysis/reports. This will include PE & PP resin market analytics with potential to expand coverage to other direct material procurement categories.Key Job AccountabilitiesMarket Analytics

• Understand the nature of the businesses and make business cases using data analyses
• Report on performance, model suppliers and industry to assist in the decision-making processes
• Establish and maintain communication channels with external industry sources, key team members and internal business units for data gathering/analysis and to support their business requirements
• Maintain and improve monthly reports for the finance and sales/marketing teams with the appropriate level of information
• Support development and maintenance of ‘total cost of ownership’ and clean-sheet models
• Monitor suppliers, competitors, customers, products and materials to gather intelligence across the PET value chain
• Develop and manage Global Interactive Market Dashboard encompassing petrochemical feedstock chain scope of price, margins, supply, demand, capacity, trade flows, macroeconomics etc
• Educate finance and sales/marketing teams on market analytics of the PET value chain
• Process optimisation by automating recurrent market reports and models

Strategy Development

• Support PET sourcing team using analytics to support strategic sourcing projects
• Support review and assessment of efficiencies within businesses, identifying opportunities and providing improvement recommendations
• Provide negotiation support and support analysis of complex bid award scenario analysis

Sourcing Support

• Support PET category managers with regional and global market and supplier analysis and reports
• Participate in RFx evaluation using qualitative techniques, scenario and benchmarking analysis

Qualifications/Requirements

• University degree in a relevant discipline
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Business fluency in English is a must
• Proven ability to learn and assimilate new information quickly
• Advanced analytical skills enabling to quickly triangulate resin market data
• Experience in market and benchmark analysis at a broad level
• Interest in global procurement is beneficial
• Power BI experience and programming an advantage but not essential
• Ability to convert data into a clear and succinct message
• Strong organisational, verbal communication and report writing skills
• Good presentation and communication skills
• Commercially astute with strong business acumen
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and judgement
• Relationship management skills with the ability to work within a team
