You will join R&D Decanters responsible for decanters’ product and technology development. We are searching for a skilled engineer who would like to be part of expanding our technological knowledge and making an impact on the future development of decanters.For this position, you will enter a major role, where you will be the go-to person and specialist in gearbox design. This will be a small percentage of your role. Your primary responsibilities will be Decanter design.You will have the opportunity to work closely with your colleagues in R&D as well as colleagues in other departments focusing on production, service, and sales, you will be engaged in the following tasks:Design, improve & maintain our range of planetary gearboxes -10%Design and maintain machine componentsBecome a subject matter expertParticipate in decanter development projects – 90%Improve the existing range of decanters through design optimization and cost reductionBuild field experience by troubleshooting for customersWork on quality cases including testing in our Test & Innovation Center as well as in the field together with our customersTraining of new employees from our sales and service teamsAt Alfa Laval, we embrace a hybrid work model, providing you the flexibility to work from home when it aligns with your tasks. This position is based at our Søborg office in Copenhagen, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 5 – 10 days per year.What you knowTo be successful in this position, we expect you to hold a degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering and have min. 2-3 years of experience in gearbox design.Besides that, you have:A theoretical background in mechanics design, strength, and dynamicsInterest in maintenance & improving our range of gearbox designsExperience with KISSsoft program (Design concepts for a Gearbox)Minimum of 2 years of project management experienceExperience in 3D CAD programs. We are using NX, but others are acceptedExperience with ERP systems, we are using Team Center so that would be beneficialEnglish fluencyWho you areAs a person you are open and informal, enjoy communicating and interacting with your colleagues, and are used to working in cross-cultural project teams. You have a systematic approach to your daily work and able to drive your own tasks with energy and enthusiasm.
