It has a long history in Ireland having first arrived in the late 16th century, and their presence has impacted the country’s educational, religious, and cultural landscape.In terms of education, the Jesuits have been involved in founding and running several secondary and primary schools. They are also involved in third level education and are known for their commitment to scholarship and intellectual pursuits.The Jesuits are involved in many aspects of society, both in Ireland and abroad, including social justice initiatives, pastoral work, and spiritual guidance.As in many other countries, the Jesuits in Ireland have faced challenges and changes over the centuries.
