Job description: Summary:
Our client, a biopharmaceutical company based in East Cork, is seeking a Payments Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will be part of the payments team responsible for all payment-related tasks across the EMEA region, serving as a key contact for suppliers, employee expenses, VAT, tax and product payments, and handling both manual and batch transactions. The role involves working with Bank of America, HSBC, and Citibank platforms, as well as SAP and Oracle systems. The ideal candidate will also collaborate closely with the Cash Management and Source to Settle (STS) accounting teams to ensure timely reconciliation and prevent ageing items on bank reconciliations.Responsibilities:

• Running of weekly multi-currency SAP batch payments.
• Processing manual payment requests, including the following – Tax, VAT, product payments, travel advances & interview expenses.
• Processing supplier and employee expense payments for emerging markets (non-ERP markets).
• Processing intercompany payments.
• Working with cash management and STS accounting teams on bank rec items and follow-up on aged items.
• Working in internal ticketing system and shared mailbox to manage queries.
• Completion of month-end tasks in conjunction with wider STS team.
• Maintenance of payment approval schedule and bank matrix.
• Preparation and maintenance of payment templates in BOA, HSBC & Citi systems.
• Maintain desktop procedures for the duties carried out by this role.
• Follow up on internal and external audit requests as required.
• Involvement in STS continuous improvement projects.
• Testing for payments in any ERP upgrades or changes.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Business Degree desirable.
• Minimum 3 years’ STS experience in a fast-paced multi-national environment – experience in payments an advantage.
• High level of proficiency in Excel is essential.
