Job description: Job Description:Robert Half Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be partnering with an established, global Manufacturing firm to hire an Inventory Accountant.This exciting job role would suit an ambitious, analytical and highly numerate accounting professional with a strong manufacturing background and is based in modern offices at my Client’s UK office near Newbury.The Duties:

• Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records specific to manufacturing operations in EU and UK.
• Assist in monitoring and analysing manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labour etc.
• Analyse cost variances and report findings to the Operations Finance Manager.
• Help maintain accurate inventory records, including the valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial documents.
• Management of standard costs and Purchase Price Variance (PPV).
• Management of production variances.
• Participate in physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Assist in implementing effective inventory control procedures.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to support management decisions.
• Support the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
• Project work on consolidations and associated ERP improvements

The Candidate:

• Part Qualified or newly qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA pref.)
• Quantifiable experience in Cost Accounting and Inventory Accounting
• Minimum of 3 years Accounting experience and at least 1-2 years within Manufacturing Sector
• Experience in using Business Central and JD Edwards is highly desirable
• Strong Analytical and reporting skills using Excel
• Strong time management, planning and organisational skills, attention to detail
• Self-motivation and a willingness to continuously learn and develop
• Able to collaborate with a diverse cross-section of stakeholders in UK and EU and USA
