The DICES project, funded under Horizon Europe and conducted in collaboration with institutional partners in seven European countries, aims to: enhance understanding of Europe’s social economy; evaluate the role of social economy organisations in addressing social exclusion and improving services and workplaces; and recommend policy measures and governance frameworks to unlock the social economy’s potential. The project has a strong focus on the social economy in the context of care, including care work, care services and related initiatives. The appointee will be required to support a range of tasks on the project, under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The main focus of the work will be on working conditions, job quality, organisational democracy and social dialogue in the social economy care sector. A key task will be to conduct an online EU-wide survey of working conditions in the social economy care sector. This will involve consultation with stakeholders on survey design, preparation of the survey protocol and survey instrument, preparing the application for ethical approval, survey dissemination, analysis of findings and drafting of working papers and other outputs. Applicants must have proven experience of conducting online survey work and must demonstrate relevant skills, including statistical analysis. The appointee will also be required to support qualitative research tasks. The completion of work tasks to a high standard within prescribed time frames will be critical to the success of the project.Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI’s.
