The PostDoc will be part of the research group Microbial Biochemistry.The employment duration is 3 years.Your future tasks:

  • Applying LC-MS analyses of microbial metabolites
  • Synthesis of activity-based probes and chemical standards
  • Investigating bacterial biotransformation products of human drugs
  • Investigating effects of drugs on siderophore biosynthesis and degradation
  • Close collaboration between Chemistry and Microbiology
  • Data analysis
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international conferences
  • Supervision of trainees and students

This is part of your profile:

  • A PhD degree in Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience in LC-MS analytics, synthesis of molecular standards (e.g. quinolones, AHLs), quorum sensing pathways
  • Experience in protein expression, activity-based protein profiling, and working with microbial cultures (preferably with biosafety level 2)
  • Publications in peer-reviewd journals
  • A proactive, curious, and independent thinker who is motivated to push the boundaries of knowledge.
  • The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international research environment.
