Job description: Taylor Hopkinson has been retained to appoint a Project CEO for Biogas projects across Ireland. This is a full time position which can be based anywhere across Ireland.The role
Lead biogas projects through development and FID
Advance projects in line with investment objectives by managing team members within a matrix organization
Supporting additions to project pipeline by working with investment team and external developers to originate opportunities
Set project culture and ambition all while implementing world class way of working
Identify and manage risks to the business case, whilst working with experts as required to mitigate the risks and realise the opportunities to maximise value
Responsibilities
Understand investment objectives and design project to exceed same
Design project workstreams to realize profitable renewable investment development, assign workstream leads and manage delivery.
Define and communicate project and portfolio resource needs and timing.
Support positive Final Investment Decision in large scale biogas / biofuel projects by presenting solid execution plans coupled with robust business cases
Identify & procure suitable 3rd party service providers to support development of the investment ensuring alignment with overall investment objectives
Maintain ongoing alignment with internal and external teams over the life of the project. Deep-dive topics with permit experts, technical experts, commercial experts etc to add value and manage risk
Establish appropriate communication with senior management and all project groups and functions within and outside the company. Prepare and distribute progress status reports, as required
During development phase:
Drive project to ensure efficient development process towards RtB
Manage risk, focus on key project fundamentals and work with integrated team to deliver feedstock, permits, procurement and financial solutions
Support project financing requirements
Empower project team to manage RFPs and procurement processes as necessary, working together with investment team to define and develop most feasible project economics
Communicate and report on project and investment portfolio health to internal & external stakeholders.
Define scope, identify vendors, tenders, and negotiate EPC, O&M, feedstock, offtake and other key project contracts
Support as required in preparing investor material & FID material
Support Investment team in transaction close-out and due diligence with 3rd party service providers as required
Requirements
Track record of successful project development and business development in biogas or renewable energy
Experience in permitting processes
Experience of originating opportunities
Action oriented and willing to tackle problems to deliver results
Experience in managing senior and junior stakeholders
Excellent communication & project / programme management skills
