Job description: Cleantech Civils is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager and Site Engineer for a key infrastructure project based in Tullamore, Co. Kerry. This role involves overseeing the construction of a substation and associated grid route.We are offering a highly competitive and attractive package for the ideal candidate, with opportunities to lead a skilled team and contribute to critical energy infrastructure.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:· Reporting directly to a Contacts Manger overseeing site managers/ engineers and subcontractors and take full responsibility for the safe, timely execution of the works in accordance with the budgetary, programme and quality requirements.. Experienced in reinforced concrete structures is essential.. Wastewater large diameter pipework experience is essential· Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise form details issued or from situations as they arise on site.· Keeping the project team informed on all relevant aspects of technical & engineering issues that arise on the project.· Ensuring that contractors on site execute works as per method statement & risk assessment.· Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people, and operatives.· Ensuring that all materials used, and work performed are as per specifications.· Assisting with the selection and requisition of materials and plant management.· monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client/architect.· Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project day-to-day.· Set the highest possible standards of leadership in promotion of HS&E procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance with company procedures.· Maintain and manage construction sites and subcontractors, ensuring all subcontractors follow Cleantech Civils procedures and processes.· Establish and promote best quality, safety & environmental practices.· Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organisation.Selection Criteria / Person Specification:· Min. Third level qualification (or equivalent) in Construction/Civil Engineering or similar.· Extensive experience of managing projects within a civils/water environment.· Experience of MS project.· Valid Safe Pass and/or SMSTS and/or MSIC card holder.· Accuracy, attention to detail and a methodical nature are key.· Ability to lead, use initiative and be self-motivated.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Time management and planning skills.The Site Engineer will establish the level and survey control for contracts and set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:· Establish the level and survey control for contracts,· Set out detailed works as per contract drawing, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis,· Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements,· Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time,· Produce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with the procurement department to ensure site have adequate resources to complete the tasks,· Establish and promote best practice,· Produce site diaries, records, and allocation sheets,· Establish safe working cultures and practices,· Comply with company procedures and legal obligations,· Promote and comply with environmental compliance,· Deliver the works safely and to deadline,· Ensure work is delivered defect/snag free,· Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities,· Ensuring the promotion of customer focus throughout the organisation,· Establish and promote EHS awareness on site,Selection Criteria / Person Specification:· Min. Third level qualification (or equivalent) in Construction/Civil Engineering or similar,· Min. 2-3 years site based setting out experience,· Sound knowledge of construction methods, health & safety, Environmental and legal regulations,· Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station or EDM instruments,· Self-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlook,· Experience of temporary work co-ordination a benefit,· Experience of MS project,· Valid Safe Pass/SMSTS/MSIC card holder,The above statements are intended to describe the essential responsibilities of persons assigned to this role.
