The Section of Biostatistics conducts general biostatistical research and methodological development in biostatistics, undertakes teaching of biostatistics for the health sciences and for students of mathematics/statistics, undergraduate as well as postgraduate, and offers a biostatistical consultancy service for the staff and students in all disciplines of the Faculty of Health Sciences.Your job
Your job will be to work on different projects. The project work will usually have components in all the disciplines: applied data analysis, development/application of advanced statistical methodology, coding of algorithms and computer simulation, and writing of research reports. Many of these projects are in close collaboration with medical researchers. Usually, a research assistant is involved in two projects at a time.One specific example of such a project is methodological development, implementation, simulation studies, and the application of targeted learning methods for longitudinal data. For this project ideally the candidate has some familiarity with event history analysis and possibly also with machine learning.Another specific example is statistical software development, e.g. implementing tools and algorithms for working with causal discovery or implementing methodology for graphical Rasch models. These projects are focused on user-friendly software implementation and testing, but will also include elements of dissemination, e.g. through producing user-guides and participating in writing a scientific article regarding the software.The successful applicant will be a statistician with a master’s degree in mathematics or statistics. The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.The positions are fixed-term positions. The starting date is November 1st 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 33,100 DKK/approx. 4,430 EUR (April 2025 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 18.07 % to your pension fund.The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.Questions
