Wachsman has a strong track record of RFP wins and new business conversion, but there exists enormous potential to refine and optimise business development processes. This is a new position created to help fuel the next phase of the agency’s growth, so the ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial self-starter ready to carve out their career path and growth trajectory within the organisation.Responsibilities:
- Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on prospective clients, their industries, and relevant market trends. Use media monitoring, data and analytics tools to support research.
- Business Development Preparation: Prepare detailed and well-structured call briefs for senior leadership prior to scheduled client meetings, pitches, and presentations. Proposal Development: Collaborate closely with senior leadership in the development of proposals, presentations, and pitch documents. Project manage proposals to ensure adequate resourcing, quality control and adherence to internal and external deadlines.
- Communications: Draft all communication related to business development activities, including engaging introductory emails, timely follow-up messages, concise proposal summaries, and other materials as required throughout the sales process.
- Lead Management: Efficiently manage and qualify inbound leads received through various channels.
- Lead Engagement: Plan, develop and execute targeted outbound campaigns for warmer leads, under the guidance and in collaboration with senior leadership.
- CRM Management: In partnership with senior leadership, maintain and manage the agency’s HubSpot CRM system.
- Reporting: Provide proactive support to leadership by assisting with the tracking, reporting, and analysis of all sales activities within HubSpot, identifying trends, potential challenges, and opportunities. Provide accurate data to support revenue forecasting.
- Content Creation: Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of sales materials and resources, such as case studies showcasing successful client work, up-to-date credential decks highlighting the agency’s expertise, and other impactful marketing collateral.
- Coordination: Coordinate and schedule all business development-related meetings, including internal strategy sessions, client presentations etc.
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative to identify and address needs, and collaborate effectively as a proactive and supportive member of a team.

- Commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
- Intellectual curiosity.
- Experience in managing and utilising HubSpot (or a similar platform like Salesforce or Pipedrive) for data management, reporting, etc.
- High level of proficiency in Google Suite, in particular Slides. Familiarity with design tools like Canva a bonus.
- Exceptional research and analytical skills.
- Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to craft show-stopping presentations and impactful pitch documents for winning competitive tender processes.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of proven experience in a support role within a sales operations, marketing, or business development function, ideally within a professional services environment such as a public relations, marketing, or consultancy.
- Familiarity with the public relations or broader marketing industry, including typical service offering, and a foundational understanding of the business development process within this industry would be ideal.
