Job description: University of Copenhagen and AnaEE-ERIC is seeking a Scientific Officer for the AnaEE Technology Centre, hosted by the University of Copenhagen, Faculty of Science, Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management, DenmarkApplication Deadline: 3. August 2025.
Employment period: Temporary from 1 September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter to 28 February 2027.University of Copenhagen hosts the Technology centre of AnaEE-ERIC – the European Research Infrastructure Consortium for experimental ecosystem research. We now seek a motivated Technology Scientist to focus on promoting coordination and standardization of technologies and methodologies across the research facilities belonging to the AnaEE network of experimental facilities throughout Europe, and watching / promoting new technologies to maintain the network to the highest international standards in experimental ecology.Understanding how anthropic drivers such as climate change and loss of biodiversity affect ecosystem functions and services is key for mitigation and adaptation to global changes. AnaEE provides a novel approach by simulating future climate conditions, and other drivers such as management methods, to address ecological sustainability challenges for Europe. For more general information about AnaEE-ERIC, see .The successful candidate will be in charge of the Technology Centre of AnaEE-ERIC and will specifically:

  • Manage the Technology Centre.
  • Develop tools to monitor the quality of the network.
  • Propose and develop actions for the standardisation of instrumentation, methods and processes, in relation with the facility managers.
  • Watch, inform, and promote new, emerging state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies used or with potential for usage within the experimental ecosystem research domain.
  • In collaboration with the AnaEE Central Hub (access manager), and AnaEE Data and Modelling Centre, train and help facility managers in implementing standardized practices for instrumentation and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the writing, management and coordination of activities related to proposals and projects, especially in the context of the EU framework program (Horizon Europe)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across different research infrastructures internationally.
  • Represent AnaEE-ERIC in meetings, conferences, and other events in relation with the AnaEE Director General and other AnaEE Service Centres.
  • Advice for AnaEE-ERIC in the domain of technology, methodologies, and access to AnaEE facilities and services.

Qualifications

  • Preferably a PhD in a discipline related to AnaEE-ERIC activities, with emphasis in experimentation and technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in science, networking and collaborations other than the PhD.
  • Capacity to identify knowledge gaps and research opportunities within their area of expertise.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with EU projects.
  • Self-starter and autonomous.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, especially in an international environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (CEFR level C1 or more).
  • The position requires travelling in Europe and abroad.

Terms of salary and employmentThe employment and salary are made in accordance with the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC in Denmark (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). The salary is based on seniority. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The working time are 37 hours per week on average.
