Job description: Senior Administrator – Temporary ContractOur client is Ireland’s national body for research, advisory, and education in agriculture, horticulture, food, and rural development. Its core mission is to support science-based innovation to improve the competitiveness, sustainability, and efficiency of Ireland’s agri-food sector.As Senior Administrator on a key scholarship programme in a highly responsible position that demands exceptional administrative skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. You will work closely with scholars, supervisors, and institutional partners to uphold the programme’s reputation for excellence, ensuring compliance with policies and best practices while continually enhancing administrative efficiency. This role requires a proactive, solutions-focused professional who can manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the effective administration of the Programme, as well as acting as the main point of contact for all administrative aspects.
  • Set up new Scholars on the CRM, ensuring accurate and timely information entry.
  • Process scholar requests for extensions, special leave, upgrades, and terminations as required.
  • Process monthly stipend and fee payments, managing approximately €8 million annually, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare monthly budget reports and analyse outturns, assisting with identification of reasons for any budget variances and corrective action where required.
  • Oversee the processing of reimbursements for non-EU Scholars.
  • Ensure compliance with the programme Terms & Conditions and all financial policies.
  • Assist the programme’s team in organising scholar development activities, including the Scholar of the Year competition, induction days, and other events.

We are seeking a high-calibre candidate with:

  • A Level 8 degree in business or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Significant experience in administration, financial processes, and reporting
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing large volumes of data and overseeing detailed processes
  • Familiarity with grant or programme management systems (e.g., SmartSimple) would be a strong advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to check own work.
  • Self-motivated with ability to plan and prioritise work by importance and urgency.
  • A positive, proactive solutions-focused approach to work.
