Job description: About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and internationally minded Senior General Ledger Accountant to join their Prague-based accounting team. In this role, you’ll play a critical role in managing and improving general ledger processes across a fast-scaling, multi-entity, global organization. You’ll take ownership of a broad range of GL activities, collaborate with teams across borders, and help drive automation and standardization initiatives.Responsibilities:
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger accounting.
Review and oversee day-to-day GL activities and document approvals.
Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors.
Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes.
Participate in the preparation of statutory, group, and audit reporting packages.
Manage balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset accounting.
Review and support VAT returns and other tax filings.
Work cross-functionally with teams in finance, tax, procurement, and operations.
Support ERP system improvements and financial automation initiatives.
Help define, implement, and optimize accounting processes in a scalable way.
Serve as a point of contact for international branches on GL matters.
Identify areas for process improvement and lead projects to address them.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, ideally in an international or high-growth environment.
In-depth knowledge of Czech accounting and tax regulations. Experience with IFRS or other GAAPs is a plus.
Strong command of MS Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
Fluent English (spoken and written). Ability to read and understand Czech in a business/accounting context.
Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
Analytical thinking, organizational strength, and a keen eye for detail.
Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-driven mindset.
Experience with process improvement, automation, or system implementation is an advantage.
