Hours: 35 hours per weekAbout the Role:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Psychologist to join our client’s dynamic interdisciplinary community based children’s team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality psychological services for children and young people with complex needs and their families.As Senior Psychologist, you will provide leadership in assessment, intervention, consultation, and service development while supporting junior colleagues through clinical supervision. You will work in line with national best practice, including the National Framework for Recovery and quality standards, contributing to integrated, child- and family-centred care.Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based psychological services including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and consultation.
  • Carry a defined caseload, exercising full professional autonomy and responsibility.
  • Conduct psychological assessments using a range of psychometric tools and approaches.
  • Design and implement therapeutic interventions, tailored to the needs of children and families.
  • Provide clinical supervision to assistant/junior psychologists and other team members.
  • Represent the psychology profession in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
  • Advocate for children and families, ensuring psychological perspectives are reflected in service delivery.
  • Contribute to ongoing service evaluation and quality improvement.
  • Engage in audit, research, and evaluation to improve service quality and outcomes.
  • Support innovation in service design and contribute to academic publications and presentations where appropriate.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff and trainees.
  • Deliver training to other professionals within and outside the team.
  • Support community-based intervention groups through consultation and supervision.
  • Ensure documentation and data collection are accurate and compliant with data protection and clinical governance standards.
  • Participate in service planning, development, and performance monitoring.
  • Support the implementation of relevant strategies, policies, and protocols.

Requirements:

  • A recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology (accredited by PSI or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience, with at least 2 years post-qualification as a practicing psychologist.
  • Proven experience working with children with disabilities and their families within the CDNT model or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision and contribute to team development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant Irish legislation, HIQA standards, and national disability strategies.
  • Strong IT proficiency and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to own transport.
  • Experience with service development and leading interdisciplinary projects.
  • Research experience or publications in relevant fields.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed or neurodiversity-affirming practices.
