Job Title: Contract Senior QA Engineer – Data Analysis
Contract Length: 12 Months (with potential extension)
Day Rate: Up to £500 per day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: ASAPAbout the RoleI’m seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer with strong experience in data analysis, quality and validation to join an outstanding flagship digital team on a contract basis. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of their data pipelines and analytics products.This is an excellent opportunity to work with a cross-functional team of engineers, analysts, and data scientists in a fast-paced environment where quality and precision are critical.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and execute test plans for ETL pipelines, data transformations, and analytics productsDevelop automated tests and validation tools for data integrity, accuracy, completeness, and performanceIdentify, document, and track defects in large-scale data systemsWork closely with data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to define test requirementsConduct root cause analysis of data issues and drive resolutionEnsure compliance with data governance and quality standardsContribute to CI/CD processes with automated data testingRequirements5+ years of experience in QA or Test Engineering, with a focus on data products or platformsStrong knowledge of SQL and experience with large-scale relational and/or NoSQL databasesExperience testing data pipelines (ETL/ELT), preferably with tools like Apache Airflow, dbt, Spark, or similarProficiency in Python or similar scripting language for test automationExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), especially in data-related servicesFamiliarity with data warehousing concepts (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)Strong understanding of data governance, data profiling, and quality metricsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a distributed teamNice to HaveExperience in a regulated or highly data-sensitive environment (e.g., fintech, healthcare)Exposure to tools like Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, or SodaBackground in statistical or analytics QAInterQuest Group is acting as an employment agency for this vacancy.
