Job description: Senior Tax Manager – Galway CityAbout Your New Employer:Our client is a leading Accountancy practice based in Galway City. They are looking for an experienced Tax professional to join their growing Tax team.About Your New Job:Key Responsibilities:Tax Compliance:

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other relevant taxes.
  • Stay abreast of changes in Irish tax laws and regulations.
  • Ensure requirements related to policyholder tax are being met.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax reporting obligations.

Financial Reporting:

  • Provide accurate and comprehensive tax information for financial reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless integration of tax data into financial statements.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Coordinate and manage tax audits, liaising with external auditors and tax authorities.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure tax compliance.
  • Report to the Directors on tax compliance and other tax related matters.

Advisory Support:

  • Advise internal stakeholders on the tax implications of business decisions and potential risks.
  • Provide guidance on tax implications for new products and initiatives.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors, authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Serve as the point of contact for tax-related inquiries.

What Skills You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Chartered Tax Adviser / CTA Qualification.
  • Professional Accounting Certification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA).
  • Extensive (5+ years) experience in tax management in practice.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
