Job description: Senior Tax Manager – Galway CityAbout Your New Employer:Our client is a leading Accountancy practice based in Galway City. They are looking for an experienced Tax professional to join their growing Tax team.About Your New Job:Key Responsibilities:Tax Compliance:
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other relevant taxes.
Stay abreast of changes in Irish tax laws and regulations.
Ensure requirements related to policyholder tax are being met.
Ensure compliance with all tax reporting obligations.
Financial Reporting:
Provide accurate and comprehensive tax information for financial reporting purposes.
Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless integration of tax data into financial statements.
Audit and Compliance:
Coordinate and manage tax audits, liaising with external auditors and tax authorities.
Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure tax compliance.
Report to the Directors on tax compliance and other tax related matters.
Advisory Support:
Advise internal stakeholders on the tax implications of business decisions and potential risks.
Provide guidance on tax implications for new products and initiatives.
Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors, authorities, and other relevant stakeholders.
Serve as the point of contact for tax-related inquiries.
What Skills You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Chartered Tax Adviser / CTA Qualification.
Professional Accounting Certification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA).
Extensive (5+ years) experience in tax management in practice.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
