Job description: A Statutory Accountant is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Dublin based client. The Statutory Accountant can be located in Golbey (France), Lyon (France) or Dublin (Ireland). You will be part of the French statutory reporting team, a high-performing and established team of 4 people, within a larger team of 14 people located in different countries, all part of the EMEA RTR function. The team based in Golbey is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledgers and statutory records of 4 legal entities established in France, ensuring that all processes comply with local accounting standards (Local GAAP), US Accounting Standards (US GAAP), and Tax Legislation.THE ROLE:

  • Record manual entries in the ERP (Oracle) on a monthly basis and before the 2nd working day of the following month, related to management control needs or according to the accounting team’s management areas (expenses/indirect costs, transfer pricing, fixed assets, taxes, payroll).
  • Analyze monthly transactions and monthly balances of French entities, issued via the ERP, in USGAAP standards to support management control and record necessary adjustments.
  • Participate in monthly closings in USGAAP standards through entries, analyses, and reporting to be carried out according to the requests of management control and/or the group within the first 4 working days of each month.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts for which the accounting team is responsible in the group’s reconciliation tool (ARCS), according to the schedule determined by the group for each month.
  • File declarations and, if necessary, pay taxes to which the French entities are subject, according to the schedule and legal and tax obligations imposed by the administration.
  • Perform annual accounting closing operations in French standards for the fiscal year ending on 31/12, via the secondary book of the ERP and reconcile the statutory balance sheet balances before April of the year following the fiscal year-end.
  • Respond to requests during internal, external, and statutory audits according to the auditors’ schedule.
  • Prepare and validate the tax package in the tax declaration software before the tax deadline (May).
  • Prepare and validate the legal file for holding general meetings before 30/06 for the fiscal year ending on 31/12.
  • Reconcile monthly fixed assets and depreciation accounts with the auxiliary module of the Oracle ERP and record necessary adjustments.
  • Support and/or co-lead improvement project management (Lean methodology) within the local team and/or in relation with the regional team (Europe).
  • Participate in internal presentations in English to other teams in the EMEA region (Metrics).

REQUIREMENTS(MUST HAVES):

  • Good knowledge of French Accounting and taxation with a minimum of 2 years of significant, demonstrable, and relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Team spirit and internal customer partnership.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Problem-solving ability with a desire to continuously improve processes.
  • Ability to effectively manage a high volume of data, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

DESIRABLE:

  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP, R12.
  • Specific experience in shared services environments.
  • Any other European language.
