Job description: Intersport Elverys is seeking to recruit an ESG Advisor to oversee the implementation of our ESG strategy across the business.Based in our HQ in Castlebar Co. Mayo, and reporting to the General Manager, this is a two-year fixed term position combining strategic ESG leadership with collaboration across various business functions.Key Responsibilities:· Lead and progress the company’s ESG strategy, maintaining an alignment with INTERSPORT international best practice.· Chair the internal ESG Steering Group and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG practices across various business functions.· Monitor and report on ESG performance, ensuring compliance with relevant environmental reporting standards and frameworks.· Remain updated on emerging ESG trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to drive continuous improvement and innovation.· Drive efficiencies in target areas such as low carbon transition, waste management, energy efficiency, biodiversity and circular economy/recommerce practices.· Maintain transparency in our ESG performance and progress toward sustainability targets in conjunction with our partners.· Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities in the area of sustainability and corporate governance.· Liaising with relevant government & EU bodies to secure grants/supports as appropriate.· Organize and lead internal sustainability awareness programs, workshops, and employee engagement activities.· Participate in the INTERSPORT Global ESG Working Group, exchanging ideas and knowledge to help embed groupwide ESG 2030 Targets.Qualifications, skills and experience:· Minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainability or environmental management.· Excellent knowledge of sustainability practices, ESG frameworks, and relevant regulations.· Ability to develop and implement ESG strategies, policies, and frameworks tailored to the organization’s objectives.· Financial acumen to link sustainability initiatives to business value and articulate the financial implications of ESG practices.· Knowledge of/and tendering for grants/supports from relevant government and EU bodies.· Experience in conducting stakeholder engagement and managing relationships with chosen partners and other key stakeholders.· Clear and confident verbal & written communication, leadership, and project management skills.· Proven ability to drive organizational change, collaborate with diverse teams, and inspire a sustainability-focused culture.Note: This Job description is not a static document and doesn’t propose to cover every aspect of this role.
