Job description: Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Technical Sales Manager to support growth across both BioPharmaceutical and general pharmaceutical manufacturing markets. This role blends scientific expertise with business development, supporting technical sales activities across a diverse customer base, including biologics, sterile injectables, solid dose, and specialty pharma manufacturers.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting customer development projects, providing high-level technical insight, and helping the commercial team deliver tailored solutions in line with quality, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.Travel is a key component of the role. The position will involve regular visits to customers across Ireland and the UK, with occasional international travel to support global accounts and attend industry events.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Focus – BioPharma & General Pharma
- Lead technical engagement with BioPharma manufacturers, especially in areas such as biologics, vaccines, cell & gene therapies.
- Provide technical business development support across broader pharmaceutical sectors including solid oral dose, sterile manufacturing, and controlled substances.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify new opportunities, translating customer needs into development projects.
- Support market intelligence and trend analysis to identify innovation and commercialisation opportunities.
- Represent BSP Pharma and Brenntag at key industry events, both locally and internationally.
Operational Responsibilities
- Conduct regular technical visits to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical customers in Ireland, the UK, and other countries within a Pan-European scope.
- Engage with stakeholders in R&D, Quality, Production, and Procurement to identify and convert technical opportunities.
- Provide expert technical support on product usage, formulation challenges, and process optimisation.
- Support the launch of new products through customer training, technical literature preparation, and internal enablement.
- Use CRM systems to track projects, document customer interactions, and maintain visibility of the development pipeline.
- Assist in tender processes, customer audits, and product qualification procedures where needed.
- Participate in local, regional, and international exhibitions, conferences, and trade fairs representing BSP Pharma.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotech, Chemistry, etc.)
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a technical or commercial role within BioPharma or general pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of GMP/GDP, pharmaceutical formulation, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success in managing customer development projects from concept to commercialisation.
- Understanding of excipients, APIs, and processing aids used in both biological and chemical drug manufacturing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Full, clean driving license and ability to travel internationally.
