Job profile:Your tasks:

  • Independent research activities in the field of pancreatic function and pancreatic pathognesis with a focus on the zebrafish model
  • Independent organisation of courses and examinations in the fields of molecular biology, developmental biology and biomedicine
  • Assistance in teaching in Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes; supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s students, guidance of technical staff
  • Collaboration in the organisation of courses, laboratory practicals and scientific events and participation in ongoing projects on the formation and regeneration of beta cells
  • Participation in administrative and strategic tasks within the research group or institution as well as further qualification and participation in national and international specialist events

Your profile:

  • Completed doctoral or PhD studies in the field of biology, molecular medicine or comparable life sciences
  • Postdoctoral experience or relevant professional experience
  • Proven research experience in the field of diabetes and/or pancreas research
  • Proven experience in working with the model organism zebrafish, experience in the creation and application of genetic models is desirable
  • Sound knowledge of imaging techniques in cell and developmental biology
  • Publication activity in peer-reviewed journals and active participation in international conferences
  • Experience in the acquisition and management of third-party funded projects (e.g. EU, FWF, state funding)
  • Enjoy teaching and supervising young scientists
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Team spirit, initiative, organisational talent and strong communication skills
