For information, visit www.exlservice.com.Role Title: Vice President (VP) of Strategic SourcingBU/Segment: Strategic SourcingLocation: Full-time Dublin, Ireland (with normal business travel)Employment Type: PermanentReporting Lines: Direct: Global Head of Procurement, India | Indirect: SVP International, DublinSummary of the role:The Vice President (VP) of Strategic Sourcing is expected to lead strategic sourcing solutions that identify and lead complex, cross-functional strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives consistent with established procurement guidelines. The role will also serve as a point of contact for managing the sourcing activities for US and Europe, including Ireland.Categories of products and services that this role supports include, but are not limited to, HR Services, Benefits, Marketing, Consulting, BPO, Recruitment, Training, Facilities procurement, and Real Estate.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with numerous business stakeholders, including legal, third-party risk management, subject matter experts and external suppliers regarding Technology Infrastructure, Cloud based solutions, Hardware, Software, and Professional services
  • Establishing strong relationships with internal business stakeholders
  • Build a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities across assigned suppliers and / or spend categories
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s policies and procedures related to supplier selection, contracting and ongoing management, ensuring all requirements are met and documented throughout the end-to-end process
  • Developing, implementing, and managing robust market analysis / benchmarking processes leverage key insights to inform and support business, category, and project strategies
  • Managing key supplier relationships with a focus on quality, service, delivery, risk and costs. Lead support for cross functional teams in developing and executing sourcing projects, supplier management strategies, and complex contract negotiations

In addition, the VP Global Procurement has direct responsibility for management and oversight of EXL’s procurement activities associated with EXL’s global vendor contracts, including:

  • Strategizing to identify cost-effective deals and vendors to minimize procurement costs
  • Liaising with business leaders to understand procurement needs and potential vendors
  • Providing input into strategic decisions with respect to identifying cost-effective global deals and vendors, and initiating business and organization partnerships where appropriate
  • Providing strategic oversight and critical input in key procurement decision-making regarding investments, risks, pricing, operating model, managing delivery scheduling, quality, and investments
  • Approving the ordering of necessary goods and services, and finalizing purchase details of orders and deliveries, and examining and test existing contracts
  • Coordinating global vendor payments according to EXL policies and procedures
  • Contributing to developing and performing risk management policies for supply contracts and agreements
  • Supporting the Global Procurement Leader (“GPL”) in reporting to EXL’s overall global leadership in the US, including tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Providing input into developing the global procurement policy, strategy, investment protocols and risk management processes
  • Jointly establish and review procurement KPIs with GPL
  • Review and sign vendor contracts, including negotiating contractual terms
  • Approving contracts with EXL’s standard contracting framework and the guidelines prescribed by GPL
  • Liaising with GPL to finalize negotiations and contract terms outside of prescribed guidelines
  • Liaising with EXL GPL to provide strategic input into EXL’s global procurement strategic decision making, including developing the overall global procurement commercial plan, investment decisions, pricing decisions, vendor selection, risk management, quality assurance, delivery and logistics, and vendor relationship management
  • Coordinating with the global business and procurement teams in India, US and other EXL locations
  • Managing procurement personnel in Ireland, including training
  • Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
  • 15 – 18+ years of previous sourcing and contracting experience in US, Europe, including UK and, Ireland, and India
  • Knowledge and experience with Procurement applications (e.g. eRFx, eAuction, P2P)
  • Knowledge of working in ERP environment (Oracle is Preferred)
  • Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization
  • Proven track record of leading large, complex sourcing and / or contracting initiatives
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • High integrity and ethics
  • Demonstrated strategic sourcing/procurement, stakeholder management, relationship management, and influencing skills
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
